This is my 17th year teaching and my 7th year at Pathfinder. Inspired by my work in preschool and Montessori classrooms with young learners, I intended to earn my teaching degree to teach a primary grade. My student-teaching included a quarter in a fifth grade classroom and I discovered the fun in teaching older students. Once I graduated from the University of Portland with my M.A.T, I taught in intermediate bilingual Spanish classrooms for two years in eastern Washington. I then moved back to Seattle and taught fifth grade at Highland Park and West Seattle Elementaries. I finally "graduated" to sixth grade and have been loving this exciting year with my students ever since. I enjoy making 6th grade a fun and memorable year for them.
