    2017 6th grade Orientation
    Posted on 06/16/2017

    Dear Pathfinder Families,

It is with great pleasure we welcome you to Pathfinder’s middle school.  We are looking forward to having your student and your family in our middle school program.  We would like to invite your family to attend an orientation to the middle school.  This orientation will take place on August 24th at 6:00 to 7:00 in the Hub.  The goal of the orientation is to give everyone his or her teacher assignment, September class schedule, and other important information that will be helpful at the beginning of the year.

I’m sure you are all wondering about how electives will work for next year.  Typically, by this time of the year the students have received their elective choices.  Next year we would like all sixth grade students to do a one-month rotation of each of our electives.  Students would have one week of each of our specialist classes, art, Chinese, PE, and instrumental music/choir.  This will give students a better idea of what their choices really are.  However, we would love to hear if your child is interested in band or Chinese before school starts and would be happy to take your email requests.

Do be aware, if you wish your child to have classes that would remove them from PE, a letter or an email is required demonstrating what outside of school physical activity your child is engaged in.  We cannot guarantee any particular classes, however we try our hardest to make sure students are in classes that support their interests.

If you have any questions regarding this process, you may email our assistant principal Lisa Clayton,, or call the school directly, 252-9710.  Please do mark your calendars.  We want 100% attendance at the orientation.
